Support young artists with ARTS! Four design competition winning T-shirts will be sold exclusively on ZOZOTOWN

The brand “modelab” directed by Takashi and the T-shirt design competition “2024 ARTS OF” held by Tokyo University of the Arts. FASHION COMPETITION modelab by ZOZOTOWN × Tokyo University of the Arts TEXTILE T-shirts featuring the four award-winning works of “ARTS” will be sold exclusively on ZOZOTOWN from July 19th (Friday). *
This competition, which was held with the aim of supporting young artists and popularizing art, is open to current students and graduates of Tokyo University of the Arts to express art from a free perspective without being bound by the framework through the filter of fashion. We were looking for T-shirt designs based on the theme.
The four T-shirts selected by Mr. Kumagai and other judges from a total of 276 entries will be commercialized and sold to order.

When you hear the word “field”, is there a place that comes to mind? I remember when I was a child there was a place where I didn’t know what kind of park it was, but it was a little different from the park with a name, but there was grass growing and you could play house or just lie down and spend your time freely. Even now that I’m an adult, I created this collage with the idea that I would always remember the fields of Yatsugatake where I spent my childhood and the desire to continue playing forever.

The mud from the bottom of the river may come on top of your head. Art sheds surprising light on the way of life in the natural world. As a development, it is hoped that these activities will help people imagine a crisis in which “mud from the bottom of a river could come to a head.”

The tree just exists. Even if there is a typhoon or thunder, the tree will still be there. In today’s busy and ever-changing society, being able to enjoy the tranquility of a tree means giving yourself a break. We learn wisdom from trees. If we can move forward in our lives with this wisdom, our lives will become more beautiful and enriching as “ourselves”, just like the maturity of a tree.

Japanese creative director/stylist. Studied fashion in Paris and has been active as a top stylist leading the Japanese fashion industry since the 1990s. He also works in a wide variety of areas, including brand direction, photography, interior space and planting direction.
