September 5th (Thursday) AndTech WEB Online “Revision status and future trends of transport regulations for lithium-ion batteries for e-Mobility and xEVs – From the basics to practical application examples” Zoom seminar scheduled to be held
Mr. Yoshitaka Asakura, President and Representative Director of AYE Co., Ltd., will give a lecture.
……
AndTech Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, President and CEO: Masao Suyama, hereinafter referred to as
“AndTech”), as part of the Zoom course for R&D development support, will respond to the growing need to resolve issues related to lithium-ion battery transportation regulations, which have been increasing recently. We will be holding a course on “Lithium-ion battery transportation rules” taught by leading instructors. Because lithium-ion batteries contain flammable electrolytes, they are classified as Class 9 under the Transport of Dangerous Goods Regulations, and are not only required for supplying products to the market, but also for the collection, reuse, and recycling of used batteries. is regulated by. We will explain what kind of regulations are there, what is their background, and how transportation
regulations are applied in various situations, from development and design to manufacturing, logistics, and service of battery products! This course is scheduled to start on September 5, 2024.

Mobility using lithium-ion batteries has been rapidly gaining popularity since 2015. In addition to investing in battery production bases around the world, efforts are also underway to collect, reuse, and recycle batteries. Because lithium-ion batteries contain a flammable electrolyte, they are classified as Class 9 in the Dangerous Goods Transport Regulations, and their transportation is regulated. Find out what kind of regulations they are subject to and what is the background behind them. There are few opportunities. In this seminar, we will explain the application of transportation regulations that occur in various situations from the development and design of battery products to manufacturing, logistics, and service support, and we will help participants understand compliance with transportation
regulations by explaining any questions they may have. Our aim is to improve it.

[Speaker’s biggest PR point]
Since 1995, we have been involved in the development of electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles.Since 2008, we have been working on international standards and automobile safety standards for lithium-ion batteries, which are currently rapidly becoming popular, as well as transportation regulations for lithium-ion batteries used in automobiles. As a member of an industry organization, we have been working towards the optimization of the regulations (particularly UN38.3 of the Transport Test Regulations). Currently, I belong to the Automotive Battery Standards Committee of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the American Hazardous Materials Transportation Safety Association (COSTHA), and am working on collecting and analyzing information related to battery transportation overseas. I’m not an expert in battery chemistry, but I’ve been working on it for many years from an outsider’s perspective, so your questions are also my questions, and I basically try to think through them together with you.
