Zaim, a personal household accounting service operated by the Kufuu Company Group and which has been downloaded over 11 million times, conducted a survey regarding this summer’s electricity bills, air conditioner usage, and awareness of government subsidies for electricity rates. *

The survey was conducted among 1,782 users from July 26, 2024 (Monday) to July 27, 2024 (Tuesday). Approximately 50% of respondents answered that their July 2024 electricity bill (billed in August) is “expected to be significantly higher (average expected amount: 3,955 yen)” compared to the previous month. While some respondents said they were “prepared” and “cannot help it” about the rise in electricity costs, some expressed concerns about the increase in expenses. *

There are regional differences in the number of hours an air conditioner is used per day, with Kyushu having the highest usage time of 15.9 hours.
