The slightly mysterious daily fantasy animation “Kinoko Inu” is based on the original comic (author: Kimama Sousei / Tokuma Shoten COMIC Ryu), which has sold over 1.75 million copies in total. Today, we announced the first PV, key visual, and additional staff and cast on the first live broadcast program of the same work by W starring Buddy, Daiki Kobayashi and Yuto Uemura. In addition, the ending theme song, a tie-up with the Japan Animal Welfare Association, and a “premium advance screening and talk show of episodes 1 to 3” with seven cast members on September 8th (Sunday) have also been announced. A lottery application for tickets to the screening began immediately after the program ended.

The story depicts the encounters and change of heart that occur when a mushroom dog is suddenly born in the garden and starts living with a firefly. This key visual is based on the image of the Kinoko Dog Universe, where everyone is drawn to the Kinoko Dog.

Komako Amano CV: Anna Nagase
An editor at a publishing company who is also Hotaru’s childhood friend. An outspoken and skilled girl. I always keep scissors in my bag.

Itsuki Yara CV: Takuma Terashima
A member of the nearby Hoshibato Mushroom Research Institute. His father is the editor-in-chief of Komako’s company. She’s such a big fan of Hotaru that she tends to act strangely.

First of all, I was surprised that this work, which I have loved since it was first serialized, is now being made into an anime, and I am even more surprised that I will be in charge of the voice of Yayoi-kun. All the characters are full of life and go into the dubbing with an indescribable sense of happiness. I hope that more people will enjoy the anime. I will condense my love for the work into my love for Hotaru-sensei through Yaku-kun, and do my best in acting!

Plum CV: Misaki Kuno
A mysterious creature with a plum-colored pattern that looks exactly like a mushroom dog. What is its true identity?

Who the hell is Plum? I’m so excited to be able to play a character whose identity is unknown…! ! Plum’s lines are not written in the script, so he is free to do whatever he wants. During the dialogue during the dubbing, I was having fun performing the role, bursting into laughter as I heard my unexpected voice come out out of nowhere. Personally, this is the first time for me to laugh so much (?) while dubbing (lol). I hope everyone who sees it enjoys it♪

Anzu Uehara CV: Hina
A junior high school student in the neighborhood. They run into each other at a bookstore and by chance decide to go to Hotaru’s house. She is an only child and a mother who is good at cooking.

When I first read “Kinoko Inu,” I felt that it was a very
heartwarming work filled with lots of bonds and love. I’m really happy to be involved in such a wonderful work! The dubbing scene was also recorded in a warm atmosphere, so I would be happy if I could convey that atmosphere and the charm of the gentle and solid side of Anzu Uehara, who I play, and the innocent side that she sometimes shows! Tsubaki Uehara CV: Sayaka Senbongi
Anzu’s mother. Divorced and lives with Anzu. She is free-spirited and gets involved, but she has no malicious intentions. I’m counting on Anzu.

My name is Ayaka Senbongi and I will be playing the role of Tsubaki Uehara in Kinoko Inu. Although Tsubaki is clumsy, she is a very charming woman who has a playful side and has a friendship-like relationship with her daughter Anzu. I feel pressure to play a woman, which I have never played before, but I am enjoying recording in the gentle and warm atmosphere of the work! I think it will be a fun and heartwarming work, so please look forward to the anime!

“Heart b-b-beat!!” by the 8-member voice actor girl unit IBERIs & has been chosen as the ending theme song!
IBERIs& is a girls unit to which Hina, who plays Anzu, belongs, and this is the group’s first ending theme song for a TV anime. The clear voices of the girls, who are active as voice actors and artists, combined with the skipping, light dance music, further enhance the color saturation of the world of Kinoko Inu.

Formed in 2022. An eight-member voice actor girl unit born from auditions that received 3,347 applicants from all over the country. The unit name [IBERIs&] has the meaning of IBERIs (irregular flowers) & (shining together) irregular personalities and voice actors with great potential. They have lived normal lives up until now. With the thought that “I absolutely want to become a voice actor/artist,” he is determined to pursue his dream and is working on rigorous auditions and lessons.

Visuals of Kinoko Dog and Hotaru supporting the activities of the Japan Animal Welfare Association have been released.
The association’s theme is “Aiming for a society where people and animals can live happily together” and is working every day to increase the number of happy animals as much as possible. I created the visuals for the anime “Kinoko Inu”, which is a story that begins when Hotaru meets a Kinoko dog and the two spend their days having fun and laughing together, hoping to support this activity even a little. Ta.
We plan to use this visual for future welfare activities.
Advance screening & talk show
It has been decided that an advance screening and talk show of episodes 1 to 3 will be held on Sunday, September 8th, with all seven main cast members present. Additionally, ticket lottery applications will begin from 21:30 today. Prior to the broadcast in October, you will have the chance to hear valuable talks from the cast that can only be heard here, and watch the main story on the big screen. One day, picture book author Hotaru Yuyami notices a pink mushroom growing under a snowy willow in her garden.
As he stares blankly, it suddenly begins to move! It looks like a dog with its tail wagging, but is it a mushroom? Despite having doubts, he decides to live with this mysterious creature – a mushroom dog. Then…I draw where I shouldn’t, and I always want to eat all of my favorite takoyaki. Childhood friend editor Komako-chan and Yayoi-kun from the Kinoko Institute are also involved, and “funny” days are coming with Kinoko Inu, who is free to do whatever he wants, but who can also be easily followed.
A slightly mysterious and warm animation that depicts the fun days of the mysterious Kinoko Dog, Hotaru, and everyone else when they are together.
