Idea Co., Ltd. |Aisea Crew releases new function “Vessel Labor Management System”
*~Strengthening cooperation between owner-operators and supporting legal compliance~*
Idea Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director, President and CEO: Shimokawabe), which operates the maritime industry platform “Aisea”
Chiyo (hereinafter referred to as “our company”) is pleased to announce that we have released a new function for domestic shipping operators: “Vessel Labor Management System.”
We aim to support legal compliance in ship operation management and expand services that not only improve operational efficiency but also help solve industry issues.
* ■Development background*
The Coastal Shipping Law, which was revised in 2022 along with the Seafarers Law, has created an obligation to create a sailing plan that takes seafarers’ working hours into consideration. Since then, the operator’s ship dispatcher has been working with the owner and the ship to take measures to prevent overwork of seafarers, but due to the time lag caused by the complicated work flow and the high workload, it is difficult to ensure a sustainable and effective method. We were facing issues in building a legal compliance system. To solve this problem, we have developed a system that automatically aggregates and analyzes the labor status of seafarers on a ship-by-operated basis and visualizes the risk of overwork. With this system, operators’ ship dispatchers will be able to grasp the labor status of operating vessels in real time and plan efficient operations.
