We would like to inform you that we will be participating in a demonstration experiment aimed at implementing Level 4 self-driving buses, with Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, as the demonstration subject.
This demonstration experiment will use route buses that utilize cutting-edge autonomous driving technology, and will be the first demonstration experiment in Japan aimed at implementing Level 4 autonomous driving on route bus routes that cross prefectures. It becomes.
Prior to the demonstration experiment, a press briefing was held on August 2, 2024. This briefing session was attended by members of the “Kawasaki City Autonomous Driving Implementation Promotion Council” established on April 5, 2024, and the mayor of Kawasaki will provide an overview of the project, as well as an exhibition of self-driving bus vehicles. * 1. First demonstration experiment in the country on a bus route that crosses prefectures *
・One of the experimental routes will connect Daishibashi Station in Kawasaki City and Tenkubashi Station in Ota Ward, Tokyo, and will run over the Tamagawa Sky Bridge.
・This is the first initiative in the country to implement Level 4 on a bus route that straddles areas under the jurisdiction of two local governments and police departments.
