Prior to the start of the B.LEAGUE season, the Ryukyu Golden Kings will participate in an international tournament to be held in Trapani, Sicily, Italy.
This tournament will feature the Trapani Sharks (a member of the Italian league’s first division) based in Trapani, Italy, as well as the Serbian powerhouse Partizan Belgrade, who have won the EuroLeague championship and have produced many NBA players. The event will be held by four teams: Deltona Basketball, which belongs to the Italian league’s first division.
We received an invitation from Mr. Antonini Valerio, the
representative of Trapani Sharks, who said, “We want Ryukyu Golden Kings, a club representing Asia, to participate in the tournament,” and we have decided to participate in this tournament.
In the past, a B.LEAGUE club has never participated in an
international match in Europe, and this trip will be their first participation in Europe.
