and KUMA’S FACTORY Co., Ltd. (Location: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo,
Representative Director: Yuma Ono, hereinafter “KUMA’S
FACTORY”) has concluded an “Industry-Academia Collaboration Agreement” (hereinafter referred to as the “Agreement”).
■Summary of this agreement
This agreement is between Tokyo University of Health and Medical Professions and KUMA’S
FACTORY was formed with the aim of creating synergistic effects through mutual efforts in the field of child development.
Tokyo Health and Medical Professions University specializes in education and research in the field of rehabilitation. In particular, the Department of Occupational Therapy in the Faculty of
Rehabilitation provides support and environmental assessment in the field of developmental disorders, and covers a wide range of children’s mental and physical development and daily life, not just developmental disorders. Through this agreement, we will jointly carry out activities that contribute to supporting the development of children, and we will also create opportunities for students to learn on-site with children while they are still enrolled in school, thereby fostering highly specialized human resources with more applied skills. We aim to do so.
KUMA’S produces, plans, and produces content for children.
FACTORY conducts space design and renovation of childcare facilities and treatment facilities, as well as workshops for a diverse range of children. Through this agreement, we aim to develop services that promote children’s development in collaboration with universities with specialized knowledge, in order to respond to a wider range of children and develop more in-depth activities.
■Cooperation details
Based on this agreement, we will promote the following contents. ・Holding workshops to promote children’s development and sensory integration through “occupational therapy x art”
・Mutual cooperation in evaluation, adjustment, and configuration of the environment through “occupational therapy x art”
– Opportunities for students to learn on-site and provide on-site experience (internships, etc.)
・Cooperation and joint research in the renovation of nursery schools, kindergartens, and rehabilitation facilities
First of all, we will hold a joint event “Live Painting Utilizing the University Building” on Sunday, August 11, 2024. We will hold an event where high school and university students will help children draw pictures on the walls of the university building, allowing them to learn through hands-on learning about the relationship between art production and child development.
