In collaboration with Masami (hereinafter referred to as EY New Japan), we will hold an online seminar “Being ahead of accounting and finance transformation! Application of new lease accounting standards and secrets of contract management ~ Utilization of contract management system in collecting lease information ~” on Tuesday, August 27th.

In May 2023, the Accounting Standards Board of Japan (ASBJ) announced the “Accounting Standards for Leases (Draft)” etc. Until now, Japan’s accounting standards for leases have differed significantly from international accounting standards (IFRS 16 and ASC 842) in some areas, but with the latest revisions, it is expected that consistency will increase, especially with regard to lessee treatment. I am.
Considering the examples of companies that have adopted IFRS 16 (lease accounting standard under IFRS) ahead of others, it is expected that there will be many companies that will need to redesign their processes and adapt their systems to the new lease accounting standard. .
In particular, as a variety of information needs to be registered and updated as appropriate in order to bring leases on-balance sheet, there will likely be cases where departments in charge of contracts are faced with the importance and complexity of contract information management.
In this seminar, we will provide explanations focusing on building contract management processes and system support in preparation for applying the new lease accounting standards.
