Joined the “Generative AI Utilization Promotion Association” with the aim of making generative AI common use
* Japan Electronic Computing Co., Ltd. (NTT Data Group, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and Representative Director: Hidenori Chihara, hereinafter referred to as JIP) will become a general incorporated association on August 1, 2024.
We have joined the Generative AI Utilization and Popularization Association (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Chairman: Satoshi Ibata, hereinafter referred to as GUGA) as a senior partner member. * *
Through various activities through our membership in GUGA, we will foster a culture of utilizing generative AI, foster generative AI human resources, and contribute to the development of the Japanese economy through the use of generative AI. *
Recently, research and utilization of generative AI has been progressing, and remarkable results are being seen in the fields of automatic sentence generation, image generation, and conversational AI, for example. However, there are still several obstacles before these technologies become widespread as standard equipment in society. For example, on the technical side, it is necessary to improve the accuracy and reliability of AI, and on the ethical side, there are issues such as protecting privacy and eliminating bias. In addition, in order to make it more common for companies to introduce it, it is essential to deal with the high cost of introduction, the difficulty of integrating with existing systems, and the need to improve the skills of employees.
GUGA is one of Japan’s leading generative AI platforms that aims to rebuild industry through social implementation of generative AI. We offer the “Generative AI Passport,” a qualification test created for AI beginners to prevent generative AI risks, and the “GUGA Generative AI Consortium,” which strengthens application support for “IT introduction subsidies” when introducing AI tools. I am. In addition, in order to visualize the skills of generative AI users and promote best practices in the use of generative AI technology, we will support the development of generative AI human resources, promote research and development through industry-academia-government collaboration, and promote policy recommendations. We aim for publication and social implementation.
JIP deeply sympathizes with and supports the objectives of GUGA, and has decided to join GUGA as a senior partner member. JIP has been working on generative AI in the past, but by participating in committee activities as a senior partner member and expanding the activities within the company, we are expanding the range of generative AI utilization within the company, and are encouraging employees to take generative AI as a matter of course. We will further foster a culture that utilizes AI. This will lead to an increase in the number of qualified generative AI human resources, and the utilization of generative AI not only in existing systems and services but also in new systems and services will greatly contribute to the realization of the association’s objectives, contribute to society, and contribute to Japan’s further development. I believe that I can contribute to development.
In the future, we will work beyond the boundaries of companies and industries, collaborating with GUGA member companies, contributing to the utilization of generative AI and revitalizing the Japanese economy, and strive to make our activities help solve issues in Japanese society. .
