We will start selling “Geronda Bello”. Argyros is a long-established winery that has been operating for 120 years on the island of Santorini, Greece. We produce pure, energetic, and one-of-a-kind wines that are packed with all the natural elements that are rooted in the island, such as the shining sun, the blowing sea breeze, and the powerful volcano.
Argyros is located in a unique location between the cliffs of the volcanic mountains behind and the Aegean Sea in front. We practice organic farming in the fields. The soil is plowed with mules, no pesticides are used, and unnecessary grape skins and stems are used as fertilizer. Grape vines with an average age of 70 years are cultivated in healthy soil, and some vines are as old as 200 years old. Old vines with roots deep underground produce highly concentrated and deep wines.
The main variety grown is Assyrtiko, a traditional white grape from Santorini. It has thick, aromatic skin, and is characterized by high acidity and a pleasant bitterness. Furthermore, the minerality brought about by the volcanic soil, the minerality brought about by the strong sea breeze, and the squareness of the minerality brought about by the island’s unique terroir give the wine a powerful and dignified tension.
Argyros’ winemaking style is simple, as the grapes themselves have extremely high potential. Yet its incredible complexity is the result of exceptional terroir and careful cultivation. You can feel the overflowing fruitiness, the brilliant acidity, and the dazzlingly vivid flavor that seems to swallow up the island itself in every cuvée.

“Santorini Cuvée” to be released this time
Gelonda Bello uses French oak barrels for fermentation and aging. It expresses the harmony between the strength of Assyrtiko and the elegance of French oak. Gelotambero means “old vine grape” in the Santorini dialect. A one-of-a-kind wine that is packed with the essence of 180-200-year-old old vines carefully selected from three plots: Pyrugos, Megalochori, and Episkopi, and maximizes the synergy between the vines, growers, winemakers, and island traditions. This is the culmination of the second part. Although it has a dignified personality and strength, it is not harsh at all, and has a very refined taste. It takes several years to show its true value, and it has the ability to age for over 15 years.
Fresh aromas reminiscent of ripe lemons, tropical fruits, shells, and sea breeze, with a graceful touch of oak and vanilla.
When you put it in your mouth, the powerful and toned fruit flavors spread out, followed by waves of fresh acidity and rich minerality. The mellow oak aroma gives it a deep depth, giving it a rich taste that exudes depth and elegance.
