8/31 Announcement of screening and talk show of Noto Earthquake seen by Italy “Noto no Hana” (documentary film)
*At UPLINK Kichijoji, we will be screening the documentary film “Noto no Hana”, which follows Italian volunteers in the Noto earthquake, and will have a talk show with the director and performers. *
“Flowers of Noto” is a documentary filled with laughter and tears that depicts two Italians taking part in volunteer activities on the Noto Peninsula and reconsidering their own values through
interaction with friends and local people. is.
In the talk show, the three Italian actors and directors will talk about the background of the film’s production and their volunteer experiences in Noto.
Tommaso, a photographer who was heartbroken by the earthquake in Noto, which he had previously visited; another Tommaso, a film director who decided to participate because he thought the story of “Italians saving Japan” would be popular in Italy; and the Great East Japan Earthquake. However, Adriana, who has volunteer experience, talks about her experiences in Noto and changes in her state of mind from her own perspective.
Additionally, we will be inviting Catherine, a reporter for the Japan Times, who is actively reporting on Noto, to share her valuable perspective on the current situation and reconstruction of Noto.

Movie synopsis
Last October, young Italian photographer Tommaso visited the Noto Peninsula. Deeply impressed by the beauty of Noto, he vowed to visit again. However, two months later, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7 occurred on the Noto Peninsula. Heartbroken by the extensive damage, Tommaso and his friend, a film director, decided to visit Noto again to document the disaster situation.
Coincidentally, the two met Adriana, an Italian cooking teacher who was planning to do some volunteer work on the Noto Peninsula. The two, who had no experience in volunteering, decided to join Adriana’s project.
However, an experience vastly different from what he had imagined awaited him. Insomnia, pasta, incidents, breakdowns, tears, and laughter.
Adriana and the people they met in Noto gave them an opportunity to reevaluate their values.
