Authentic rice shochu “Kurayoshi” won gold at the global alcohol competition held in England!

Kurayoshi, an authentic rice shochu produced by Matsui Sake Brewery LLC (located in Kurayoshi City, Tottori Prefecture) using Japan’s first distillation method (*), was selected to be awarded the International Liquor Fair held in the UK.
Spirits Challenge 2024” (hereinafter referred to as ISC), we won the gold award in the Shochu category.
In addition, “San’in Highball” and “Oyama Highball” received Silver in the Pre-Mixed Drinks category.
The authentic rice shochu “Kurayoshi” that received the gold award this time is manufactured using a unique distillation method and is highly praised for its quality and taste. Kura Master
Following our first award in 2024, we were able to receive consecutive gold awards and worldwide recognition.
This is a work we are proud of and took about two years from conception to completion, so we are very proud of the result. We will continue to strive for greater heights without becoming complacent. *Authentic rice shochu “Kurayoshi” is manufactured using Japan’s first vacuum distillation method with a boiling point of 35 degrees (according to our own research).
* ■About authentic rice shochu “Kurayoshi”*
* 1. A self-confident work that took about 2 years to develop * Originally, we sell shochu, but we want to make shochu even more delicious, “I want a wider range of people to drink it,” “I want people to learn more about rice shochu,” and “I want rice to have more possibilities, such as aroma and taste.” It’s hidden.” With this in mind, we started working in the fall of 2021, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
I struggled on the road to achieving the flavor I was aiming for, and it took about two years* to finally get it into shape.
The rice shochu produced using special techniques has a taste that we can deliver to our customers with confidence.
* 2. First initiative in Japan *
As mentioned at the beginning, this rice shochu is produced using *Japan’s first* distillation method.
A special patented vacuum distillation machine allows distillation, which normally has a boiling point of 45 to 50 degrees Celsius, to a near-vacuum state, allowing distillation to occur at an even lower* boiling point of 35 degrees*.
There are two main reasons why lowering the boiling point makes food taste better.

1. *The original aroma of rice remains*
Fragrance components are sensitive to heat, and if you heat it too much, the scent will evaporate and you will be more likely to get a burnt odor. Therefore, by distilling at a low temperature, we were able to retain the aroma of rice.

2. * Extracts the natural flavor of rice *
Distillation ends before too many flavor components are extracted, resulting in a clean, easy-to-drink taste with less flavor.

As a result of this effort, the rice shochu produced slowly and slowly at low temperatures has a fruity aroma and flavor that resembles pineapple.
Regarding the price, we have tried to make it affordable.
This is a masterpiece that should be enjoyed in a refreshing way, such as by diluting it with carbonated water.

“From Tottori to the world” As a comprehensive alcoholic beverage manufacturer, we will continue to pursue deliciousness and take on new challenges in order to create alcoholic beverages that have never existed before.

■*About ISC*

ISC, which is now in its 29th year, is a globally prestigious alcoholic beverage competition hosted by the British alcoholic beverage magazine Drinks International, which receives thousands of entries from over 70 countries each year. .

A rigorous blind tasting conducted by renowned experts over 23 days will select the Double Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze from each category including whisky, gin, vodka and shochu.
