The Tateshina Area Relations Project is a regional hub creation project that utilizes multiple vacant properties in Tateshina Town. T.A.R.P LLC (Head Office: 2612-3 Ashida, Tateshina-cho, Kitasaku-gun, Nagano Prefecture, Representative Employee: Kenichiro Nagata) is working to promote the utilization of vacant properties in
Tateshina-cho, Kitasaku-gun, Nagano Prefecture, where depopulation and the number of vacant houses are increasing. The Tateshina Area Relations Project was launched to build a related population. This time, we will be introducing the regional complex exchange center “Atsumaru Center Tateshina” and the cafe and workshop “bake&soup” where you can stay overnight.
We will begin raising funds through crowdfunding with the aim of opening two “yum-yum” facilities.

There are three towns in Kitasaku District, Nagano Prefecture: Karuizawa Town, Miyota Town, and Tateshina Town. Among them, Tateshina Town is the only area designated as a depopulated area and is a small town with a population of about 6,700 people. Although it is located at the foot of Mt. Tateshina and has a wealth of tourist attractions, it is less well-known and its population continues to decline year by year. Taking advantage of its location, which is easily accessible from the metropolitan area and has a rich natural environment, Tateshina Town is expected to attract many people from both inside and outside the town and from all over the country to become involved in the town.
T.A.R.P, a limited liability company that promotes the use of vacant houses and promotes migration in Tateshina Town, uses vacant houses in the town to create an environment where people from all over the country can interact with Tateshina Town in various ways. We have started the “Tateshina Area Relations Project” to create a regional hub.
Tateshina Town is located in the Toshin area of Nagano Prefecture, and together with Karuizawa Town and Miyota Town, it belongs to Kitasaku District. Tateshina, a well-known tourist destination, is located in Chino City to the south, and Tateshina Town is currently far less well-known than its surrounding cities, towns and villages. About T.A.R.P LLC
T.A.R.P. is a company founded by Nagata, who moved from Yokohama in 2020 to Tateshina Town as a regional revitalization cooperation team in charge of promoting migration and settlement, after retiring from the cooperation team.
All T.A.R.P LLCs are based in two areas, including Tokyo, Yokohama, and Numazu. The company name T.A.R.P means * T* ateshina * A* rea * R* elation * P* latform (Tateshina Area Relations Platform) is an acronym that aims to build relationships within and between regions. The name is “tarp”, which also refers to a camping tool tarp. Like a tarp, where everyone pulls strings from all sides to create a place to live, we are working to connect various regions to Tateshina Town and create opportunities for more people to become involved with the town.
Project overview
As part of the Tateshina Town Area Relations Project, we will be developing bases at two vacant properties in Tateshina Town. One is Atsumu Center Tateshina, a regional complex interaction center that utilizes vacant stores in a shopping district. This will include accommodation facilities to encourage a stay in the center of the town, a shared kitchen to create new leaders in the area, a bookstore and merchandise store for local people, and a pop-up that welcomes business travelers from outside the town. Contains a function called shop. This is a joint project with Mitsuya Kogyo Co., Ltd., a business in the town.
The other is “bake&soup”, a cafe where you can stay overnight that utilizes the most vacant houses in the town.
yum-yum” maintenance. As part of our efforts to promote the use of vacant houses, we will develop the building into a cafe with lodging facilities, with the aim of becoming a model case for the use of vacant rental houses for business purposes. This is a project that evolved from the activities of the Regional Revitalization Cooperation Team into a physical store.
By utilizing these two vacant properties at the same time, we are aiming to promote the creation of a regional base in Tateshina Town, and have decided to use crowdfunding to raise funds for the
development. .
Crowdfunding returns/benefits
In addition to Atsumu Center Tateshina’s original goods, supporters will receive vouchers for the shared kitchen and pop-up space, shopping tickets that can be used at the facility, and an assortment of Tateshina’s specialty products.
We have prepared a menu that is easy to get involved with, whether it is difficult to go to Tateshina Town, those who are interested but have not had the opportunity to visit, or those who have connections around Tateshina Town.
For details, please see the crowdfunding page below.
Thank you for your support!
I don’t think you can get to know a small town like Tateshina unless you have some kind of chance. I would be very happy if this
crowdfunding challenge sparked even the slightest amount of interest, and if this was an opportunity for you to come at least once. I don’t think migration is the only option. I think it’s okay for you to work, use a vacation home, live in two locations, or stay temporarily. I feel that providing people with an option for their range of activities is a possibility for rural towns where the population is decreasing and the population is aging.
First of all, we would like to see this project through to the end so that we can gather in Tateshina, so we would appreciate your continued support.
