Kotobank updates school affairs DX service “KOOM Timetable Cloud” and releases new function “Daily Schedule Management”

automatically generates class curriculum, which was launched in February 2024. We would like to inform you that we have released the daily routine management function. *

Development background of “daily routine management function” Creating timetables is an important factor in determining the work allocation of teachers, and it takes a lot of time to create them. Because each school is highly unique, with multiple subjects, multiple teachers (regular and non-regular), school events, and irregular curricula, commercially available software has existed in the past, but it is difficult to meet complex demands. It was customary for only a limited number of teachers to handle the situation.
KOOM is a cloud service primarily used in junior high and high schools that streamlines the task of creating timetables, which has
traditionally been a burden on some teachers, and reduces work time by approximately 150 hours (*1).
This time, we focused on the operational phase after the timetable is finalized, and released a new function for the important “daily schedule management” function.

A daily schedule calendar is automatically generated from the timetable plan created on koom to support class schedule management. You can freely set the construction period and exclusion dates, and output a list of hours during the period.
In addition, classes displayed on the daily schedule calendar can be rescheduled to suit daily changes. Transfer results are automatically recorded, and the latest timetable can be output by class/instructor in PDF or Excel format.
With this update, it will be possible to digitize and save labor from the analog work of “a person in charge creating a revised timetable, copying it on a whiteboard in front of the staff room, and having students check it visually.”
* Timetable creation function *
It features collaborative distributed input using a cloud environment and highly accurate frame placement. You can create several patterns of timetables in 30 minutes. You can also compare the output timetables and choose the most suitable pattern. The frame placement algorithm uses the annealing method, which is an application of the local search algorithm called the hill-climbing method, and the iterative local search method.
