The Japan Padel Association is working with everyone involved in padel every day through trial and error from various angles in order to develop the Japanese padel community. Japan’s top players in the Japanese padel world continue to take on the challenge of competing on the world stage, despite facing various obstacles.
*
* [Goal of this project] *
Although padel is rapidly growing around the world, it is still considered a minor sport in Japan. Therefore, despite the support and cooperation of various people, the current situation is that the activities, opportunities, and training environment for padel players are still insufficient. The current situation is that travel and accommodation costs for overseas expeditions are skyrocketing due to the weak yen and rising prices.
Although we are living under difficult circumstances, we believe that the challenge of the “Japan National Team” players in international competitions will shape the Japanese padel world in the future. The purpose of this funding is to participate in the Asian/African qualifying rounds, the Asian Games, and the World Championships, in other words, to “support the Japanese national team to take on the world challenge” (*). The Japan Padel Association has a triple mission of “victory,” “dissemination,” and “funding.” Your support makes it possible for the athletes to take on this challenge.
Please cooperate with the challenge of “PADEL TEAM JAPAN” (Japan’s Padel National Team).
(*) This funding is for the general representative, junior, and U23 category challenge to the world in 2024.
* [Padel Team JAPAN’s past activities] *
The Japanese national padel team has so far formed teams in each category: general, junior, and veteran. Regarding the general and junior Japanese national teams, we formed our first team in 2019 and have continued to challenge the world. Regarding the U23 category, we plan to form the first Japanese national team in 2024.

As for the general representative category, the system has gradually been established over various periods of history. The big turning point is 2021. The men’s team put up a fierce battle in the 2021 Asia-Africa Qualifiers, which were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, but unfortunately lost to Qatar in the final, missing out on a ticket to the world championships. In the same year, the women’s team participated in the world tournament, but they were disappointed as they were not able to achieve the results they had hoped for.
With this feeling of frustration in mind, the Japanese national team has continued through trial and error every day in order to achieve their goals. From 2023 onwards, we have selected “designated athletes to strengthen” and have implemented a number of strengthening programs to strengthen their mind, technique and body. This includes on-court strength training, mental training, physical training (including power plate training, etc.), Kouhaku matches, training camps, and other benefits sponsored by the Japanese national team sponsors.
Fifteen countries are scheduled to participate in the 2024 Asia-Africa Qualifiers for both men and women, and tough competition is expected. The general Japanese representative will take on the challenge to the world, prepared for a tough battle and with a strong desire to win, “I won’t have any more regrets” and “We will win this year.”

In addition, similar to the general category, the junior Japanese national team will begin to strengthen in earnest from 2023 onwards. Since 2023, we have been implementing a strengthening program that includes mental training, physical training, and on-court practice. In addition, in 2024, we attempted Japan’s first official padel tournament for juniors only, the “Junior Padel Circuit.”

Thanks to everyone who supports us on a daily basis, the padel world in Japan continues to grow.
Please pay attention to the future excitement and support us!
