NPO eboard introduces the “Ruby Full Button” provided by the Ruby Foundation on its official website, making it possible to
automatically add furigana.
The NPO eboard has installed a “Ruby Full Button (beta version)” on its official website that allows you to add furigana (ruby) to kanji. This button is provided free of charge by the Ruby Foundation (location: Minato-ku, Tokyo, representative director: Yutaka Ito). In support of the aims of the Ruby Foundation, eboard has also started its activities as the first Ruby Full Supporter.
At eboard, we have been working on ways to make learning easier for children who have difficulty learning due to various backgrounds, such as adding furigana (ruby) functions to the ICT teaching material eboard that we develop and operate. We will continue these efforts to prevent as many children as possible from giving up on learning.

* Furigana can now be added using the “Ruby Full Button” on the official website*

Since adding “easy subtitles” to video lessons in 2020, the NPO eboard has developed and operates the ICT teaching material eboard, which has been used to address various “difficulties in learning” caused by disabilities, language, etc., which are difficult to achieve with other teaching materials. We have been developing functions to solve this problem. As part of this, we have added a furigana (ruby) function to Digital Drill’s problem sentences and explanations.

*Supporting the purpose of “Rubyful”: Started activities as a Rubyful supporter* NPO eboard sympathizes with and supports the purpose of “Rubiful” advocated by the Ruby Foundation, which is to create a society where everyone can learn easily and where multiple cultures coexist by appropriately increasing the number of furigana (Ruby) in society. As a “Rubyful Supporter”, we will support these efforts and take action ourselves.
△The “Rubiful Mark” supports the efforts of “Rubiful” as a “Rubyful Supporter” and expresses the intention to take action himself. On eboard, in addition to installing the “Rubyful Button” on the official website, we also carry out the following “Rubyful Actions”. ●Installation of subtitles and ruby on ICT teaching materials eboard We have added “easy subtitles” to the video lessons on the ICT teaching material eboard, which we provide to more than 11,000 educational sites nationwide, and set furigana (ruby) for the question sentences and explanations of digital drills.

*Comment from Yutaka Ito, Representative Director of Ruby Foundation General Incorporated Foundation*
eboard provides video lessons and digital drill materials to help children who have difficulty getting opportunities to learn in school classes for various reasons, including not attending school, having foreign roots, or developmental disabilities, “never give up on learning.” has been developed. As I was actually providing the book to children and having them use it, I realized the necessity of subtitles and ruby characters, and I was very impressed when I heard about the examples of the ruby play activities that have been carried out so far.

This is because I feel that this is an organization that is at the forefront of putting into practice the type of Ruby that is necessary for society, as envisioned by the Ruby Foundation. We are very happy that eboard adopted our ruby full button and that we were able to implement the ruby display function on the website.

We are grateful that we were able to achieve this in a short period of time thanks to the prompt cooperation of Rita Works Co., Ltd., which has a proven track record in creating and operating websites for the social sector, mainly NPOs.
