Press release: August 20, 2024
**
[September 29th] Pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum mental health support symposium will be held in Shibuya
*Aiming for a society that expands the circle of support, expands cooperation, and provides the necessary support to those who need it* “Why is it so hard?” “Other moms are doing well, so maybe I’m weak…” “Who should I talk to?” “There are people who are having a much harder time, so I can’t take it lightly…”
I hope that the number of women who feel this way and suffer from this pain will decrease.
We decided to hold this event because we wanted to talk to people who work hard every day in medical care and welfare about what should change and what could be done to widen the circle of support. Ta. By asking questions from our perspective as people with postpartum depression and mental illness, and working in the private sector, I think there may be something that I can understand, and I would like to exchange opinions with the participants.

・️Promote cooperation on the support side
・️Create an environment where people who need it can immediately access the services they need
・️Decrease in postpartum depression rate
We aim to make these policy recommendations and build an operational system. This event will be held as a kickoff to strengthen horizontal collaboration.

*On the day of the event, we will also have a consultation space for the general public and a kids space! *
We welcome participation not only by medical, welfare, and nursing professionals who support women in the perinatal period, but also by people from private companies.
Even if you are not engaged in the work, if you are interested through yourself or your family, if you have any concerns, or if you just want to talk, please come by.

After giving birth, she was left without proper care despite her depression, and after returning to work she developed an adjustment disorder. At that time, the medical institution she visited revealed for the first time that her postpartum illness was “postpartum depression.”
In the end, I took a leave of absence from the company I was working for at the time and resigned.
In 2021, she started a counseling service specializing in postpartum depression mainly on Instagram (with over 1,000 followers at the time) under the handle “Work Mama Michi” and became a corporation in November 2022.
Currently, with the theme of “family mental care,” we mainly provide an environment for interaction, learning, and consultation online. Executive committee member Nao Kanade
