At the seminar titled “[J-Bridge] Investment and collaboration between VCs and Japanese companies in the Global South to realize global health” held at JETRO Headquarters (Minato-ku, Tokyo) on August 1st (Thursday). , Sho Okiyama, representative of Iris, appeared as a panelist.
This seminar was held on the occasion of the visit of representatives from the WHO Foundation, which was established by the World Health Organization (WHO), to build momentum for Japanese companies in global health (*) and to promote investment and collaboration in healthcare. The event was organized and co-sponsored by the WHO Foundation. On the day, WHO Foundation CEO Anil Soni and ARCHIMED GROUP Managing Director Ranmi Suzuki (formerly Moderna Japan K.K.)
(Representative Director and President) held a casual talk session on “Japan’s leadership in global health and initiatives at home and abroad.” In the panel discussion that followed, “Impact investing in global health and the overseas expansion of Japanese companies,” Iris’ Okiyama gave his opinions on the current state of Japanese healthcare startups and prospects for global expansion from his position working at the forefront of AI medical device development. and a lively discussion ensued.
