This year, we will plant 14,000 trees and donate 14 beehives. Forests selected for this commemorative tree planting include Australia, Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, India, Indonesia, Madagascar, California, Washington, and Florida. These forests are home to a variety of protected species, including monarch butterflies, gray wolves, and Magdalena river turtles. In addition to tree planting activities, KnowBe4 will also donate 14 bee hives this year. Of these, 13 boxes were used to support maintenance activities to replace previously donated hives.
KnowBe4 is celebrating its 14th anniversary and continues to work on the environment with the aim of becoming an earth-friendly company. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and are crucial in fighting climate change. Global warming and abnormal weather are now causing major problems in countries around the world. Planting just one tree can lower temperatures. Additionally, trees play an important role in maintaining ecosystem balance by providing habitat for wildlife, supporting aquatic life, and maintaining the health of waterways. Tree-planting activities like this, promoted by KnowBe4, are a vital part of helping to stop climate change.
Additionally, KnowBe4 continues its monumental tradition of donating bee hives for the fourth year in a row. The bee hives will be donated through the Pinellas Beekeepers Association (PBA). The installation and maintenance of 14 bee hives will support an incredible 280,000 bees on our planet. Bees play an important role in pollinating approximately 130 types of crops, including fruits, nuts, vegetables, and cotton, and their importance cannot be overstated.
KnowBe4 CEO Stu Showerman commented on this year’s anniversary activities: “As we celebrate our 14th anniversary, KnowBe4 is committed to being an earth-friendly company and committed to protecting the environment through donations such as planting trees, protecting endangered species, and donating beehives. KnowBe4 is proud of our tradition of annual activities that make a lasting positive impact on our planet by actively contributing to environmental protection.”
KnowBe’s 4th anniversary projects to date include planting 10,000 trees on the 10th anniversary, donating 11 bee hives on the 11th anniversary, and donating 12,000 pounds of marine debris cleanup and 12 boxes of bees on the 12th anniversary. We donated beehives, and in commemoration of our last 13th anniversary, we protected 13 endangered species and donated 13 honeybee hives.
