[Okayama University] Analysis of the infection situation and medical care provision system in Okayama Prefecture (as of August 16, 2024) ……

We plan to update once a week.
In addition, it is expressed in an easy-to-understand manner with reference to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s “Analysis and general comments on the latest monitoring items.” We hope that this
information will be helpful in understanding the situation in the prefecture. The pandemic of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has been declared over by the WHO, and normal life is returning to normal in our country. We are continuing to provide information in the hope that it will be helpful for infection prevention measures in daily life. Thank you for your support. *After moving to Category 5, the number of reported patients per sentinel is used.
◆Analysis of infection status and medical care delivery system [as of Friday, August 16, 2024]
Level 3. There are signs that infections are decreasing, but vigilance is necessary
[Last time (Friday, August 9, 2024): Level 3. There are signs that infections are decreasing, but vigilance is necessary]
The number of patients reported per sentinel has decreased slightly to 10.82. Respiratory syncytial virus infections, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, and group A beta-hemolytic streptococcal pharyngitis are still common. The new coronavirus is still prevalent both nationally and in Okayama, perhaps due to factors such as an increase in the flow of people, the appearance of new mutant strains, a decline in immunity, and a weakening of awareness of infection control measures. It is expected that the trend will continue due to the increase in the number of people during the Obon holidays. Appropriate use of masks and proper ventilation are required depending on the situation. Efforts must be made to avoid infecting those at high risk.
Although the number of patients is decreasing, the number of hospitalized patients is increasing. Hospital beds are full and some people are seriously ill, so we need to be careful. High-risk patients require early diagnosis and early treatment.
