We are selling an accommodation plan that includes a ticket to see Taikan and Shunso to Sugiyama Yasushi.
Shunso Hishida, “Gotou Little Bird”, circa 1909, owned by CP Kasei Co., Ltd. After the Meiji period, with the influx of Western techniques, Japanese painting began to reconsider traditional painting and create new expressions. This special exhibition, held at the Hiroshima Museum of Art, just a short walk from our hotel, brings together works by masters of Japanese painting from the Meiji to Showa periods. Focusing on works owned by CP Kasei Co., Ltd., headquartered in Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture, we will introduce the trends of the early days of Japanese painting, and unravel the history of tradition and innovation of the genre of “Japanese painting”, and introduce Japan in a new era. You can enjoy works by masters of Japanese painting from the Meiji to Showa periods, such as Yokoyama Taikan and Hishida Shunso, who explored painting, and Sugiyama Yasushi, who was active after the war.
The accommodation plan we have prepared this time comes with admission tickets that allow you to see not only this exhibition but also the Hiroshima Museum of Art’s proud collection exhibits, including modern French art centered on Impressionists such as Van Gogh, Renoir, Manet, and Monet, and modern Japanese art.
