**
Approximately 40% of respondents still say they are not stockpiling food… Nagatanien has a proposal for the wall that prevents stockpiling!
Nagatanien Co., Ltd. (President: Kenichi Narita, Minato-ku, Tokyo) has decided to respond to the current situation where “disaster
preparedness”, especially “food stockpiling”, is slow to progress.* Suggestions for starting stockpiling easily and easily *
We will do it for you. Specifically, we will introduce “long-term storage food products with a shelf life of 7-8 years” and “daily use products that are perfect for stockpiling food” that can be purchased at supermarkets.
*In addition, our long-term storage food “Freeze Dried Rice (Curry Flavor)” will also be sold for a limited time at “Ale Market” operated by LINE Yahoo Japan Corporation (August 22, 2024 – December 31, 2024).

◇About 40% of people say they do not stockpile food.
Earthquakes, floods, etc. occur in Japan every year, and as a result, there is an increasing number of voices saying that it is important to be prepared for disasters.
However, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries’ “Dietary and Lifestyle Survey (FY2020),” 37.1% of the total people do not stockpile food.
Looking further by age group, over 40% of people in their 20s and 30s accounted for this, indicating that younger generations are not as advanced in stockpiling food.

◇”I have stockpiled drinking water. As for other food…”
So, what do people who are “stockpiling food” stockpile?
According to the same survey, the most common choice was “drinking water” (48.6%). This was followed by cup noodles/instant noodles/dried noodles (38.0%), rice (32.3%), and drinking water.*
It can be seen that the stockpiling rate for other foods is more than 10% lower*. Also,*
The stockpiling rate for “special products for persons requiring special consideration” remains at a low level of around 5%* even among “25-34 year olds”, who probably include many households with children.

◇Is there a reason why food stockpiling is not progressing?
I’m just speculating, but those who haven’t stockpiled food may be feeling the following* “three walls”*.

* Wall #1…”I don’t know what kind of quality/design the stocked food (long-term storage food) is…” *
→ Home centers and online stores are increasingly stocking stockpiled food (long-term storage food), but they may be reluctant to spend money on it because they don’t know what’s inside.*

* Wall #2… “It’s hard to check the expiry date…” *
→Even though I stocked up on food, * if the food has a 2-3 year expiry date, “If I had left it alone, it would have expired.”

* Wall No. 3… “Dedicated stockpiled food (long-term storage food) seems to have a high hurdle…” *
→I understand that special stockpiled food is good, but it takes time and money to procure the products. *It would be nice if the products we use on a daily basis could also be used as food reserves.*

◇This is Nagatanien’s proposal for the “wall that prevents stockpiling”! * Wall #1…”I don’t know what kind of quality/design the stocked food (long-term storage food) is” *
* Wall #2…”It’s hard to check the expiration date” *
* [Suggestion…* * Shelf life is 7 to 8 years! * * Introducing Nagatanien’s long-term storage food lineup] *
