Shaker furniture was created at the end of the 18th century with a *simple structure* and excellent functionality*.

This book provides a detailed introduction to the background and history of Shaker furniture, including its design, structure, manufacturing methods, and numerous photographs and drawings.

Masayuki Unou
Born in Kyoto City in 1960. After graduating from the interior design department of Saga Art Junior College, moved to Hida Takayama. Engaged in making Shaker furniture at Spharm (moved to Hokkaido in 1983) (until 1984). 1986, Kyoto
Opened Uno Furniture Studio in the city. In 1989, the workshop was moved to Keihoku-cho (currently Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City). Alice in 1995 Inherited Shaker furniture drawings and jigs from the farm. Currently making Shaker style furniture
While doing so, he is also researching Shaker furniture from the perspective of a maker.
Katsuhiro Shiraki
Born in Hokkaido in 1992. Graduated from Hokkaido University of Education, Sapporo Campus, Basic Learning Development Major (English Group).
From 2020 to 2023, studied Shaker furniture making at Uno Furniture Studio. Summer 2023, Northeastern/Central America
Visited 19 Shaker community sites in the west. Established a workshop in Tokachi, Hokkaido in 2014. Shea
