The drama “Fermented Danshi” is a travel documentary program in which young actors Toshiki Tateishi and Eito Konishi travel to various parts of Japan and experience the charm of fermented foods that have been passed down in each region. A total of 10 episodes will be broadcast in 2022 and 2023, and the series will travel to various parts of Japan, learning about the ingenuity and wisdom of ancient Japanese people through introductory experiences at manufacturing sites and interacting with local people.
On this trip, we visited various places around the country, including Niijima in the Izu Islands and Fukuoka Prefecture, and learned not only about ancient Japanese fermentation techniques, but also about various types of fermentation, such as bread fermentation and coffee, which actually uses fermentation techniques in the manufacturing process.
