Gifu Prefecture is the place where Oda Nobunaga raised his military power over the world, the place where Toyotomi Hideyoshi set out to advance his career at Sunomata Ichiya Castle, and the place where Tokugawa Ieyasu ended the Sengoku era with the Battle of Sekigahara, and there are many places in Gifu Prefecture. This is the “Sengoku Main Stage,” which features the Sengoku period and warlord Kangen. *

The prefecture and Sekigahara Town are working to improve the Sekigahara Battlefield and disseminate information with the aim of improving the highly known Sekigahara Battlefield into a core tourism resource for wide-area tourism.
As part of this effort, the event “Ozekigahara Festival” will be held to promote the charm of the Sekigahara battlefield, starting with “Sekigahara Night 2024” (outdoor reading music picture scroll) on Saturday, September 7th, and ending on Sunday, October 20th. 2024” will be held. On the 19th (Saturday), at the “Ningen Juku” in the Sekigahara Ningen Village, the curator of the Gifu Sekigahara Battlefield Memorial Museum will give an “Old Documents Interpretation Course in Seki” where he will explain in an easy-to-understand manner how to read and highlight ancient documents related to the Battle of Sekigahara. * 1. Experience the Battle of Sekigahara | “Ground Vision” “Theater” * 1st floor theater
There is a “Ground Vision” that provides a bird’s-eye view of the Battle of Sekigahara that engulfed all of Japan, and a “Theater” where you can experience wind, vibration, light and sound as if you were immersed in Sekigahara on the day of the battle. The battle will be reproduced with a sense of realism.

The museum introduces the Battle of Sekigahara from its beginning to its conclusion, using actual materials and other materials. In March 2024, we also began exhibiting the digital art “Sekigahara Gunzo Folding Screen,” which features a moving battle map. The experience corner where you can touch real-looking weapons and take photos as a Sengoku warlord while wearing a jinbaori is also popular.

From October 8th (Tuesday) to November 24th (Sunday), we will be holding the autumn exhibition “Sekigahara – Revival of the Battle that Separates the World.”

From the 360-degree glass-enclosed observation room on the 5th floor, you can enjoy a panoramic view of present-day Sekigahara, allowing you to compare the scenery from the time of the battle mentioned in the exhibition with the present day.

* ■Visiting ancient battlefields and historic sites*
You can actually experience the remains of the battles of the many warlords mentioned at the memorial museum. There is also a walking course that follows the stories of the seven warlords that represent Sekigahara, and by looking down on the battlefield from each warlord’s position, you can see the scenery that they saw at the time. One of the attractions of the Sekigahara Battlefield is that you can not only see exhibits that make full use of the latest technology, but also walk through it yourself and see and experience it with your own eyes.
