Yasuto Sakuraba (Yasuto Sakuraba) was selected as a company to be supported by the “Project to promote overseas expansion by Japanese startups through collaboration with ASEAN companies” commissioned by the Japan-ASEAN Economic and Industrial Cooperation Committee (AMEICC), operated by Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. I would like to inform you that.

* About “Project to promote overseas expansion through collaboration with ASEAN companies by Japanese startups” *
In recent years, while ASEAN countries have achieved sustained growth, various social issues have begun to emerge due to rapid social changes accompanying economic growth.

While there are many Japanese startups that have solutions that help solve these social issues, there are many issues in ASEAN countries, such as how to select and approach local partners, how to proceed with negotiations for pitches and collaborations, and how to build networks in the local ecosystem. We are facing challenges in developing local business through collaboration with companies.

For this reason, this project will provide strategy development support through individual mentoring to Japanese startups that have solutions that contribute to resolving social issues in ASEAN and are interested in collaborating with ASEAN companies. We provide accompanying support such as attending and giving advice for interviews and business negotiations with clients, and giving advice for pitch events. As a result, we aim to achieve concrete
collaborative results with ASEAN companies, such as joint projects, joint research, capital alliances, and the establishment of JVs.

Background of Tenchito’s application
Tenchijin is a startup company whose mission is to “optimize human civilization activities using space big data” and solve global social issues from a space perspective.
Tenchijin applied for this project in order to provide a solution that will help resolve the social issue of underground sewerage pipe leakage, which causes serious water shortages in the long term. We plan to advance business development in ASEAN countries by forming partnerships with ASEAN companies through this project.
Tenchijin aims to expand its business in the global market. Currently, we are operating in approximately 10 countries other than Japan, mainly in ASEAN countries and Western Europe.
* Regarding the expansion of Tenchijin COMPASS KnoWaterleak into the Malaysian market *
Tenchijin is developing the Tenchijin Compass Space Water Bureau (English product name: Tenchijin COMPASS), which realizes the management and reuse of water leakage data in the Malaysian market. KnoWaterleak). “Heaven, Earth and Human Compass
“Space Water Bureau” is a service that visualizes areas with high risk of water leakage on a map, reducing the cost and time of water leakage investigations for local governments and private water utilities. In Japan, we started providing the service in April 2023, and as of 2024, the cumulative number of contracted local governments* has exceeded 20.
*Includes contract renewal
According to some studies, the average water yield rate in Malaysia is about 30% lower than in Japan, roughly in the range of 60% to 70%. The yield rate indicates the ratio of the amount of water supplied by the waterworks bureau to the amount of water for which charges could actually be collected from users. This means that in Malaysia, approximately 30% to 40% of the water supplied by water authorities is lost due to leakage or unauthorized use. Additionally, asbestos-cement pipes, which account for approximately 30% of Malaysia’s water pipes, will reach the end of their design life in 2022. As the population of urban areas continues to grow, Malaysia needs the technology and funds to replace them in a comprehensive and planned manner.

In the future, we will provide escort support from Leave a Nest Co., Ltd., provide information on local issues and needs, and provide various types of support from various ASEAN organizations (major companies such as conglomerates, government officials, startup companies, incubators/accelerators, academic researchers, etc.) In the ASEAN region, we will continue to
We will actively promote the business of the Space Water Bureau (Tenchijin COMPASS KnoWaterleak).
