-1- Make 2024 the “first year of logistics innovation”
Mr. Hiroyuki Konno [16:00-16:40]
In response to the “Logistics 2024 Problem,” the government compiled the “Policy Package for Logistics Innovation” in June last year, and the government worked as one to review business practices and improve logistics, with cooperation from industry and the public. In this article, we will introduce the latest trends in efforts to

2. Overview of logistics policy
3. Logistics DX and standardization efforts
4. Q&A/business card exchange
-2- About Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s logistics policy Tomoyo Onishi [16:45-17:25]
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has created a roadmap to 2040 to implement various initiatives toward the realization of the physical Internet, which will enable joint transportation and delivery across industries by utilizing digital technology. In addition to charting a path toward digitalization, we have been formulating action plans for each industry and implementing demonstration projects in Hokkaido, in order to encourage movement on an industry and regional basis. In this lecture, we will provide an overview of the physical internet and the current status of efforts.
1. Physical Internet Overview
2. About the Physical Internet Roadmap
3. Regarding initiatives by region and industry
4. Q&A/business card exchange
-3-2024 problems in agricultural distribution
Mr. Haruna Kaji [17:30-18:10]
Trucks account for 97% of the transportation of agricultural products and food products, but transportation is difficult to manage, such as shipment volumes not being decided until the last minute and quality control being strict. Due to the large amount of hand-handling work, long waiting times due to concentrated unloading time, and the large amount of long-distance transportation, there are cases where cargo is being avoided. As countermeasures, measures such as relay
transportation, large lots, palletization, modal shift, etc., and efforts to standardize and digitalize the logistics that support these are necessary.
1. Current status of agricultural product distribution
2. Countermeasures for the “2024 problem” in agricultural product distribution 3. Support from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries 4. Q&A/business card exchange
