*Kikukawa celebrating its 20th anniversary*
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the city’s incorporation, Kikugawa City has set the theme of “Taking a step toward the future with gratitude,” with the hope that everyone will fall in love with Kikugawa even more and continue to share smiles. We are currently carrying out various commemorative projects based on the keywords of “gratitude and respect,” “pride and attachment,” “dreams and hopes,” and “communicating charm.”
There are also spots that “stand out” such as “Rice Paddy Art” with the theme of Murasaki Shikibu and “Yellow Mailboxes that Deliver Happiness” realized in collaboration with Japan Post Co., Ltd. Please try incorporating it into your video!

* ■A town surrounded by natural greenery*
Kikugawa, whose specialty is deep-steamed Kikugawa tea, which was registered under the Geographical Indication (GI) protection system last year, is a tea place surrounded by greenery. The vast Makinohara Tea Garden, which spans approximately 5,000 hectares, is one of Kikugawa’s most iconic landscapes.
In addition to tea plantations, Kikugawa is a city surrounded by greenery and full of nature, with rice field art, the rural scenery of Senmata Rice Terraces, and the forests and trees that surround the town.

* ■A vibrant town*
In Kikugawa City, many events are held every month mainly at local hubs such as Plaza Kikuru, Kikugawa Red Brick Warehouse, Cultural Hall AEL, and the District Center. There are many charms of Kikugawa, such as the smiles of the people, food, traditions, and techniques! As the summer heat gradually begins to cool down, many events are planned to enjoy Kikugawa, such as industrial festivals, Halloween events, rice harvesting, and local festivals.
Event information is posted on the city’s official SNS. Please check it out! Click here for the city’s official SNS▼
