Funabashi pears are very delicious!
Funabashi is known for its soil suitable for growing pears, and more than 100 pear farmers work on growing pears every day.
“Funabashi no Nashi” was registered as a “regional collective trademark” by the Japan Patent Office in November 2014, and its taste is highly praised by Chiba Prefecture.
Bathed in the summer sunshine, it tasted great.

About pears in 2024
*Comment from Funayoshien, who purchases pears
This year’s pears are growing deliciously as the rainy season ends early and they receive plenty of sunlight.
To prevent the pears from getting heatstroke, I have been watering them with sprinklers almost every day after the end of the rainy season.
Even though with the times, mechanization and methods of making pears have been proposed to improve work efficiency, we still take the time and effort to make delicious pears.
A collaboration between the chef’s specialty dishes and pears The first dish is a popular salad with Kazusa Wagyu beef and a dressing made with pears. The second dish, Funabashi potato potage, has caramelized shrimp and pear floating in a rich soup. The main dish is a melt-in-the-mouth delicious Koedo Kurobuta pork stew with tomatoes and pears. A blissful dish that brings out the deliciousness of each dish. Homemade pear and walnut bread goes perfectly with meat dishes. At the end of the course, we offer a parfait dessert made with rich and smooth chocolate mousse and pears, and a special coffee to go with it. This coffee is from THE in Kisarazu.
First collaboration with COFFEE. Delicious flavors that complement each other. Please give it a try.

Confiture story
Nashikko is a confiture made using Funabashi pears, and is
characterized by its chunky pears and chopped pears.
Thanks to our relationship with Mr. Kano, we began commercializing the product in 2019, and the confiture “Nashiko” made with pears harvested this year went on sale on August 11th. (Currently, we purchase pears from Funayoshien, Suzukaen, and Uekusa Orchard.) In this course meal, we use pear confiture in each dish. Everyone can enjoy the confitures and variations that are filled with the thoughts of producers and chefs.

Kano’s comment from Funayoshien
I met Pom over 10 years ago at the Funabashi morning market. Also, they make pears into various shapes to convey the appeal of pears, and no matter which one you eat, they make the best use of the
characteristics of pears…
I’m so happy!
I don’t think you can go wrong with this course, so I hope as many people as possible try it!

Now that I am making pear confiture, I am looking forward to the pear harvest even more. We have seen up close the time-consuming process of pear production throughout the year, and we wanted more people to experience the charm of pears, so we expressed the deliciousness of pears through our specialty dishes. I hope to enjoy this year’s pears with everyone. We sincerely look forward to your visit.
