Started providing “Ice Play Bar” using ice from the skating rink *Starting in August 2024, we will begin offering a full-fledged service that uses the “snow-like ice” generated during ice preparation work at skating rinks to be used as play spaces for children, to prevent heat stroke, and as props for photo shoots and events. * Ontenbar Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Representative Director Namiki)
In August 2024, Wataru launched a service called “Ice no Asobiba,” which provides ice with a texture similar to the snow generated during ice preparation work at skating rinks.
■What is “Ice Play Area”?
At the skating rink, we regularly carry out ice shaping work to scrape and level the surface of the rink so that users can skate safely. Approximately 2 tons of ice is removed each day during the ice preparation process. From the idea of making effective use of ice from the perspective of SDGs, “Ice Asobiba” (tentative name at the time of trial operation: Ice Plaza) was created in cooperation with Yokohama Bank Ice Arena (located in Kanagawa Ward, Yokohama City). Born.
“Ice Play Area” began trial operation in March 2024, and is mainly used as a play space for children at events and as a measure against heat stroke. In the Tokyo metropolitan area, there are few
opportunities to experience snow in recent years, so children can enjoy it regardless of the season.
In the future, we plan to continue to expand the formats and uses of our products and develop content to meet the needs of our customers, so if you are interested, we would appreciate it if you could contact us. (We cannot provide the product in a form that would allow direct contact with the product.)
■Use examples/future event schedule
“Ice Asobiba” currently provides ice and sells ice in three main formats.
* 1. Installation and operation of “Ice Play Space”, a play space using ice * * 2. Distributing ice in take-home bags (to prevent heat stroke, etc.) * * 3. Ice transportation only (delivery to designated location) *

– Case 2. Heat stroke prevention at events –
At an event for parents and children held in Tokyo, we received an order from the sponsoring company and used it as a heatstroke prevention booth that also served as a children’s play space (we prepared take-home bags and distributed ice) to distribute ice to event attendees. provided.
