The number of OiTr installed exceeds 3,000 – Free sanitary napkins provided at commercial facilities, public facilities, offices, and schools
*OiTr spreads nationwide, promoting gender equality and supporting all women* The number of OiTr installed exceeds 3,000 units.
OiTr Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Sakiyama
Shin) is pleased to announce that the number of installed “OiTr” units has exceeded 3,000.

* Background and purpose of OiTr *
OiTr Co., Ltd. launched “OiTr” with the aim of “doing what is good for you and good for society” and to correct the gender gap and support women’s social activities. As Japanese society enters an era of declining birthrates, an aging population, and a declining population, women continue to advance into society, but the effects of
menstruation still pose many challenges. In particular, the reality that women are not equipped to deal with sudden menstruation when they are out and about is an issue that needs to be resolved by society as a whole.

Against this background, through OiTr, we are working to create an environment where people who menstruate can safely participate in society by stocking private toilets with free sanitary products. This initiative is a step towards reducing not only the physical and mental burden, but also the economic burden and loss of opportunities to participate in society.
Over 3,000 installed units – Results of social empathy and cooperation As of August 26, 2024, “OiTr” has been installed in 250 facilities in 27 prefectures nationwide, reaching a total of 3,059 units. Although installation is progressing, there are still areas where it has not been introduced, and further expansion is required. However, this result was the result of the empathy and cooperation of companies, governments, and individuals for our project, and it shows that menstrual-related issues are not just individual issues, but should be solved by society as a whole. This shows that this issue is beginning to be recognized as an important issue.

A total of 3,059 OiTr units have been installed at 250 facilities in 27 prefectures nationwide.
Our goal is to have sanitary products in every bathroom and to make them as essential infrastructure as toilet paper. Such initiatives are only possible through social empathy and cooperation. We view this result as a major step and will continue our efforts to further expand installations.

OiTr is installed in 27 prefectures nationwide.
Turning sanitary products into social infrastructure – building a socially good society together
The movement to treat sanitary products as infrastructure similar to toilet paper is gradually spreading throughout society. However, in order to further accelerate this movement, it is essential to change the mindset of society as a whole and build an appropriate system. It is important to enhance education about menstruation and promote understanding throughout society, regardless of gender, and we aim to use OiTr as an efficient and sustainable system solution to fulfill this role.

To achieve this, it is important that each of us, not just companies, local governments, and educational institutions, face and act on this issue as our own. Furthermore, policy support is also needed, such as a subsidy system by the government for facilities that have introduced it, and the application of reduced tax rates to sanitary products. With a strong will, we will work together to create a “socially good” society in order to eliminate the gender gap and realize a society where everyone can live with peace of mind.
