I will be representing Japan at the 2024 ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships & Asian Championships!
At the Japan Canoe Marathon Championship held in May this year, we won K-1 10km runner-up and K-2
As a result of winning the 10km race, I was selected to represent Japan in the 2024 Canoe Marathon.

I currently specialize in canoe sprints, which are held at distances from 200m to 1000m, but in the off-season of 2023-2024, I will actively engage in long-distance training to further improve my aerobic capacity, and I will continue to improve my training results. To find out, this year I decided to take on the canoe marathon, which ranges from 3km to 30km!

The Canoe Marathon World Championships will be held in Croatia in September, and the Asian Championships will be held in Thailand in November.
I will fight with all my might to win a medal. Thank you for your support!

About canoe sprints and canoe marathons
■Canoe sprint
Participants can row distances of 200m, 500m, and 1000m on still water in boats ranging from one to four people, using nine lanes, with multiple boats starting at the same time and rowing in the shortest possible time.
This is a competition to see who finishes. Recently, mixed events for men and women and 5000m (long distance) races have also been held.

■Canoe marathon
It is a long-distance race (3km to 30km) where participants compete for finish.Part of the course involves running on land while carrying a canoe.
A “portage area” has been set up, and since the cheering passes right in front of the spectators, the distance between the athletes and the spectators is close, and the whole venue gets excited. It is a popular sport in Europe.

About crowdfunding operated by a public interest incorporated foundation In order to get involved in sports in earnest, the funds required for the activities are essential. The Fukuoka Prefecture Sports Promotion Fund operates the platform itself in order to reduce the costs associated with crowdfunding operations and ensure that as much money as possible goes to the funders. We believe that creating a place for interaction between athletes and their supporting fans will expand the scope of sports. Unlike private platforms, the feature is that there are no fees (*conditions include non-profit activities by athletes etc. active in Fukuoka Prefecture).

About “FUKUOKA SPORTS”
It is a participatory web media where sports teams and athletes associated with Fukuoka Prefecture, regardless of whether they are professionals, amateurs, adults, or children, can register and disseminate information. Anyone can participate in everything from team introductions to event announcements and game video distribution information. The Sports Foundation’s citizen-participatory media management is unique nationwide.
