*
Nihon Travel Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Etsumitsu Koyano, hereinafter referred to as “Nihon Travel”) and Yomiuri Travel Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Takashi Sadahiro, hereinafter referred to as “Yomiuri Travel”) ”) will be held in November during the Hokuriku Destination Campaign (Hokuriku DC), a collaboration between local governments in the three Hokuriku prefectures, the JR Group, and others, to celebrate the opening of the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen and the top of the eight major shogi title tournaments. At Awara Onsen in Fukui Prefecture, which is attracting national attention as the venue for the second round of the Ryuo Tournament, the “Awara Onsen Festival” will be held as the first product of the collaboration between the two companies. *
The “Awara Onsen Festival” is held as part of the Hokuriku DC in cooperation with West Japan Railway Company (JR West) and Awara Onsen in Fukui Prefecture, and is held at a facility attached to Awara Onsen Station in Fukui and Reihoku. We will hold welcome events such as “manju-maki” which can be seen in the region, dance performances by “geisha” of Awara Onsen, a welcome by Awara City’s official mascot “Yumeguri Gonzo”, and distribution of novelty goods. In addition, with the cooperation of Awara Onsen Town, guests will be able to experience a “hot spring tour” where they can enjoy the attractive public baths of each inn. The two companies’ collaboration products for accommodation at Awara Onsen using the Hokuriku Shinkansen are Nihon Travel’s escort plan for Otonabi and Zipangu members departing from and arriving at Kansai, and individual plans departing and arriving at the Tokyo metropolitan area, Kansai, Chubu, and Hokuriku regions, and Yomiuri Travel’s We sell group plans departing from and arriving in the Kanto, Kansai, and Chugoku regions.
In 2019, Nippon Travel and Yomiuri Travel entered into a comprehensive business alliance agreement with the aim of “leveraging the strengths of both companies to improve corporate value and brand value, and strengthen customer services.” The two companies will continue to leverage the strengths of their shareholders, the JR West Group and the Yomiuri Shimbun Group, to expand their sales channels, products and content.
We will work to create new value.
