20th Hometown Return Fair 2024 held
■ What is “Hometown Return Fair”?
A festival held once a year with the themes of “migration” and “local living.” * Approximately 350 local governments and
organizations across the country* have set up immigration consultation booths,*
It is one of the largest migration matching fairs in Japan* with over 20,000 visitors.
The Goto City booth at the 18th Hometown Return Fair 2022, which I participated in for the first time two years ago, * 30 or more groups in 6 and a half hours *
The booth was so popular that 150 sets of pamphlets were sold out by noon. 18th Hometown Return Fair 2022
And at last year’s “19th Hometown Return Fair 2023″, as a result of increasing the number of staff, we had approximately 50 participants, which was a far increase from the previous year.
We visited our booth and talked about the charms of Goto City and the reality of life there.
Although the consultation was conducted under limited time, many visitors said, “I now understand why it is a popular destination for relocation,” “I now have a concrete image of relocation,” and “I would like to visit the island once.” I was happy to hear that. Afterwards, some people *actually moved to Goto City* as a result of the fair. 19th Hometown Return Fair 2023
At this “20th Hometown Return Fair 2024”, the booth will have a new look* We will be participating on both the 21st (Saturday) and 22nd (Sunday)! *
I would like to talk with many people about the charm of Goto City, the reality of island life, and moving to remote islands.
If you are “somehow curious about Goto” or “want to hear real information about the island”, please come visit us. All the staff are looking forward to seeing you!

Enjoy island life with your family!
Goto City takes about 3 hours one way from Haneda Airport and is easily accessible from Nagasaki and Fukuoka.
Not only is it blessed with beautiful nature, but it is also rich in food, history, and culture, as well as a well-developed
infrastructure, making it a popular destination for people to move to as a perfect island to live in.
Goto City, Nagasaki Prefecture is here
The population is 33,909 (as of the end of July 2024), and the number of immigrants has exceeded 200 for six consecutive years. Recently, there has been an increase in the number of U-turns from the island. Approximately 64% of immigrants, including U-turns, are young people in their 30s and above, and the retention rate is over 80%.
The kindness, kindness, greetings, gossip, and a little restraint of the people on the island. It’s not always convenient, but I think that, both good and bad, is “human life.”
First of all, please get to know what life is like in Goto City. The island is full of delicious food!
