A new gallery “YOD Gallery Tokyo store” opens at Terada Warehouse’s art complex “TERRADA ART COMPLEX II”
TERRADA ART COMPLEX is an art complex operated by Warehouse TERRADA Co., Ltd. (Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President: Kohei Terada)

TERRADA ART
COMPLEX is one of the largest gallery complexes in Japan. Focusing on art galleries that are active both domestically and internationally, we have rental ateliers for artists, a bonded gallery space that utilizes a bonded warehouse, and a café and bar that serve as a place for art fans visiting Tennoz to relax. We are working to enrich the content in order to play a role in the city of Tennoz.

YOD Gallery was established in Osaka in 2008, and has been working with artists to actively disseminate new values ​​and expressions both domestically and internationally. YOD in 2020

We have opened a new space in TOKYO (Omotesando, Tokyo) and are holding a variety of exhibitions regardless of genre, working to function as a center for transmitting next-generation culture to the world.
YOD Gallery Tokyo store, which has recently moved into the 3rd floor of TERRADA ART COMPLEX II, has been hosting YOD for 16 years. Continuing the spirit of the Gallery, you can view exhibitions that reconsider the “now” while taking into account the history of art, and discover artists and works with unique artistic views, from traditional to experimental.
As the first exhibition, “Nobuo Sekine Exhibition: Sky Phase – Skin” will be held from September 7th (Saturday) to November 16th
(Saturday), 2024.

Our company operates the contemporary art collector’s museum “WHAT MUSEUM,” the art gallery cafe “WHAT CAFE,” and the art supply lab “PIGMENT.”
Through the operation of art and culture dissemination facilities such as “TOKYO”, we are working on urban development to make Tennoz a major hub for the arts. We will continue to collaborate with galleries that lead the contemporary art scene and provide services that help revitalize the art market.

■Exhibition information: Nobuo Sekine Exhibition: Sky – Skin Nobuo Sekine (1942-2019) graduated from the Tama Art University Graduate School of Oil Painting in 1968, and from the 1960s to the 1970s.
He was active as a representative artist of the “Mono-ha” movement that swept the art world in the 1990s. In particular, 1968
“Phase – Earth”, which was exhibited at the first Suma Rikyu Park Contemporary Sculpture Exhibition in 2015, is considered the origin of “Mono-ha” and is called a monumental work of postwar Japanese art. 1970
In 2007, he became the representative artist for Japan at the Venice Biennale, one of the world’s three major biennales, and his name became even more famous. Even after moving to Los Angeles, 2019 He continued to energetically create works until his death in 2010. The works on display in this exhibition are works that Sekine worked on in his later years in Los Angeles.
Sekine’s work always reflects the traditional mindset of the East while showing respect for the surrounding environment and space. YOD The area where Gallery Tokyo store is located is in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo, which is made up of old land and newly emerging reclaimed land. It is thought that a new meaning will be born. In this exhibition, “fantasy”
