[23 overseas university entrance exams] Entrepreneurship education that was the driving force behind Kosei Gakuen’s breakthrough *Verification of educational effects for first-year students of the core program “Project: LEAP” of Kosei Gakuen’s newly established course “Global Course” (Tactopia)*

With the introduction of the “LEAP” program, Kosei Gakuen High School’s overall number of students who have been accepted into overseas universities has increased from four in 2023 to 23 in 2024 in the first term of the new course. Achieved.

* New year of establishment: * 2021
* 1st generation graduation date: * March 2024
* Number of graduates in the first period: * 35 people
*Course overview:*
A course designed to help you become a true global leader who can see things from a global standard and contribute to achieving world peace. *Introduction program:*
A two-year entrepreneurship program that combines continuous courses and overseas training.
“Project: LEAP”

In the series of courses, a basic course is held in the first year, where students learn the basics of entrepreneurship while experiencing everything from idea creation to prototype design for app development and product development, as well as presentations summarizing the process. In the second year, students go beyond creating ideas on paper and engage in practical activities such as actually selling their ideas and collaborating with people outside the school. We also provide a wide range of mentoring services as appropriate, including consultation on business content, introductions to experts, and guidance on English pitches for overseas training.

In addition to the continuous courses, in order to gain the original experience of touching the real thing that cannot be experienced in the classroom, we went to Vietnam during the summer vacation of the first year, and as a culmination training in Boston in the third semester of the second year. We are creating a cycle of learning and extraordinary learning overseas. During the Vietnam training, participants will work on solving local issues, and during the Boston training, they will give business pitches in English to local entrepreneurs and investors based on a one-year period of putting their ideas into practice.

Throughout this program, we aim to enhance students’ abilities for self-inquiry, collaboration, and realization.

Kosei Gakuen Project: LEAP Leaflet
* [* Project: LEAP* effectiveness measurement]*
Throughout the two-year program, we measured the effectiveness of entrepreneurship using the following items*:
“Entrepreneurship-related competencies” and “Agency.” Effect measurement was conducted three times: before the start of the program (Time 1), after the end of the first year (Time 2), and after the end of the program (Time 3).

*Indicators based on those developed by the European Commission to survey and evaluate the actual situation of entrepreneurship education in European countries

To measure the effectiveness of the program, we used latent profile analysis* to extract an Entrepreneurship Profile* consisting of three areas of competency and four scores* representing agency. We analyzed whether they are classified into such profiles.

*See Latent Profile Analysis (Spurk et al., 2020)
*Scores were measured using a Likert scale of 1 to 7 (low: 1 to 7: high) *“Profile” refers to a unique pattern found statistically based on multiple scores

・Entrepreneurship improved by 208-329%
As a result of our analysis, we found that at the beginning of the program, many students were in the “Low Competency” (LC) or “Mid” level.
The program was categorized as a “Mid-Competency/Mid-Competency” (MC) profile, indicating that entrepreneurship was at a developing stage, but as the program progressed, “High
Competency/High Competency (HC) In particular, from the first year to the second year, the overall
Competency, High
There has been an overall increase in students moving to the High Competency/High Agency (HCHA) profile. This is because the learning at each stage of the program gradually becomes effective, and the students not only acquire the skills to propose improvements to the current situation through trial and error, but also develop the attitude of proactively identifying issues and bringing about social change. It shows what you have learned. In particular, it seems that the students who excelled in entrepreneurship from the beginning were not the ones who achieved results, but that their growth was encouraged by the education they received in the program.

Specifically, before the program implementation (Time 1), competency was somewhat low and the agency was in the “mid” stage of development. Although the largest number of students fell into the “High
Competency” profile, as they progressed through the program stages, the “High Competency” profile
The percentage of students who fall into the ‘Agency’ profile has increased. * ・The key to results is two-year efforts, not a one-off initiative* Furthermore, as a result of data analysis, we found that from “Low Competency” to “High Competency, High
There are few cases of transitioning from “Low” to “Mid”, from “Mid” to “High Competency”, and then from “High Competency” to “High Competency”.
Competency” to “High Competency, High”
It was confirmed that there are many patterns of gradual transition to “Agency”. This proves that entrepreneurship growth does not happen overnight, and that continuous effort and gradual learning are important. We are able to support this growth by providing programs over two years, rather than just one-day programs.

* [Students with high entrepreneurship will have a successful track record]* When we analyzed the correlation between the development of
entrepreneurship among students who had a remarkable career track record at university, we found that they had “High Competency” or “High
Competency, High
Students profiled as “Agency”–that is, those who showed the most growth in entrepreneurship through the program–accounted for 90% of those admitted to universities through comprehensive selection and recommendations, and were able to attend top domestic schools and overseas universities. This accounted for 75-85% of successful applicants.
*For students who did not respond to the survey at Time 3, their profile was estimated at Time 2, and for students who did not respond at Time 2, their profile was estimated based on the data at Time 1. These results show that the Entrepreneurship Program, which fosters the ability to enjoy change and act independently rather than expecting someone else to do something for you, also contributes to improving the skills required for entrance exams. It suggests that. It can be said that these experiences, such as problem-solving
experience, refining the theme you want to explore, awareness of your own strengths, results in competitions, and a track record of starting a business, were highly evaluated in the comprehensive selection and recommendation entrance examinations.

The Kosei Gakuen Globus Course continues to gain momentum even after the 2nd generation, and from the 4th generation onwards, the number of classes has doubled from one to two. The final pitch at the Boston training session

* -Comment from Kosei Gakuen High School Global Course Program Director Naoyuki Kitano-*
“An overwhelming original experience.” The first batch of Global Course students literally gained the wings to fly out into the world through the acquisition of entrepreneurship. Students get to know themselves, society, and others by leaving school, connecting with many entrepreneurs, following their passion, formulating and testing business ideas, giving repeated presentations to get feedback, and making improvements. I learned how to collaborate with others. They made a business pitch in front of investors in Boston and graduated with a venture mindset that said, “Most things can be done somehow.” Our school’s Project:
LEAP’s success would not have been possible without our partnership with Tactopia. This was an opportunity for not only the students but also our school to take a big step forward.

* -Comment from Takutopia representative Nagai-*

First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the teachers at Kosei Gakuen for their understanding and cooperation in making this program a reality. This time, by following the trajectory of the first generation, Project:
It has become clear that LEAP greatly contributes not only to the growth of entrepreneurship, but also to acquiring “the power to steer your life in the direction you want to go.”
This result is based on the recent “exploration vs.
We are confident that this will shed some light on the ongoing debate regarding university entrance exams.
