The impetus for establishing the kofun
Since I was a child, my mother’s grave was a regular Buddhist-style grave, while my father’s was a Shinto-style tomb (Kamien-shimogata tumulus), so I never felt any discomfort between visiting
Buddhist-style and Shinto-style graves. There wasn’t. Against this background, I had been thinking for a long time about where to place my father’s grave, but in the end I came to the conclusion that I should build it myself rather than leaving it up to someone else. When I was trying to figure out how to build kofun, many people around me said they wanted to build kofun, so I started thinking about turning it into a business. In 2023, more than 50% of the graves sold were tree burials, and with the trend of the times, not just tree burials, but an extension of that, group graves in keyhole-shaped tumuli. Thinking that it would be more appropriate, he decided to build a burial mound.
Furthermore, when constructing this kofun tomb, the company aims to faithfully reproduce kofun culture. An archaeologist who excavated ancient tombs in Nara was invited as an advisor, and the
keyhole-shaped tumulus was interred with the three sacred treasures of the mirror, the sword, and the magatama, and was restored as faithfully as possible to the one from the 3rd to 4th century AD. I will. In particular, for the mirror, we have restored the largest diameter Yamato mirror, the magatama is the largest one excavated from the Yamato region, and the sword is a double-edged sword, faithfully reproducing the sword excavated from the Yamato region.
