In preparation for the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) to be held in Yokohama, we conducted city sales to ministers from African countries.
On Saturday, August 24th and Sunday, August 25th, a ministerial meeting to prepare for the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) was held in Tokyo.

The Mayor of Yokohama attended a reception hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the 24th, witnessed the unveiling of the logo for TICAD9, which will be held in Yokohama from August 20th to August 22nd, 2025, and also announced the opening of the host city in preparation for TICAD9. What is the African Development Council?
The Conference on African Development is led by the Japanese government and includes the United Nations, United Nations Development Programme, African Union Commission, and World Bank.
This is an international conference jointly held with the theme of African development. It has been held eight times since 1993. The next 9th edition will be held in Japan in August 2025.
Yokohama will host the 4th Tokyo International Conference on African Development in 2008, the 5th conference in 2013, and the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development in 2019.
