Eijiro (hereinafter referred to as “IIJ”) will use the digital currency DCJPY*1 issued by GMO Aozora Net Bank to use the digital currency DCJPY*1 issued by GMO Aozora Net Bank to conduct IIJ We are pleased to announce that we have started converting environmental value into digital assets*2 and payment transactions using DCJPY.
Digital currencies have the potential to improve the convenience of cashless payments, enable transaction transparency and immediacy, reduce operational costs, and even facilitate the creation of new financial services. GMO Aozora Net Bank is aiming to take on the challenge of creating new forms of deposit accounts and currencies in anticipation of the further advancement of digital transformation (DX) across society in the future, as part of a new BaaS*3 business initiative. It plays the role of the issuing bank of the digital currency DCJPY.
IIJ, which has been providing proxy procurement services for non-fossil certificates for customers using the Shirai Data Center Campus since October 2023, will turn environmental value into digital assets on the blockchain and begin payment transactions using DCJPY. In addition to the existing use in data centers, we will consider the possibility of secondary distribution of environmental value converted into digital assets, and aim to provide new services that respond to the growing interest in carbon neutrality.
In addition to this environmental value, D-Curret DCP is also working towards creating a new economic zone, such as public self-offering digital securities and DAO fan token services. By providing the DCJPY network, we will continue to contribute to the DX of various businesses.
