What is the Pink Ribbon Movement?
The Pink Ribbon Movement is a breast cancer awareness movement that began in the United States in the 1980s. The movement came to be called the “Pink Ribbon Movement” because the families of patients who died of breast cancer made pink ribbons as a symbol to express their wish that “such a tragedy would never be repeated.” I did. The pink ribbon is used worldwide as a symbol to convey the importance of early detection, early diagnosis, and early treatment of breast cancer. In Japan, the month from October 1st to October 31st every year is designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Pink Ribbon campaigns are held across the country to raise awareness about early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
