Guinness World Record Holder Alan’s Irish Restaurant will relocate and reopen on Saturday, September 14th!
*Irish food specialty restaurant “Giant Stew House”*
Irish food specialty restaurant “Giant Stew House” (operated by Artistry & I LLC, 91 Suetsugu Honmachi, Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, CEO Ai Fisher) is a manufacturer focused on frozen stews in order to spread Irish food nationwide. In order to make full-scale efforts, we will relocate and open a new store equipped with a central kitchen on September 14, 2024.
It has been 9 years since we opened the restaurant in Tokyo in 2015, and 3 years since we moved to Shimane in 2021. Located in Shimane, which is connected to the Irishman Yakari Koizumi, the owner Alan uses the delicious ingredients of Shimane to serve authentic home-cooked meals from his native Ireland. In addition to selling homemade frozen prepared products wholesale to retail stores such as department stores, mail order companies, and restaurants, we also cater for parties held in Shimane Prefecture with vegetarian-friendly menus. The eat-in space is open on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, and you can enjoy morning, lunch, and dinner with your family and friends that can only be found here.
About the giant shopkeeper Alan
As the store name suggests, Alan is a cheerful Irishman who is 2 meters tall. He has appeared on TV media more than 70 times, including appearing on NHK’s “Eigo de Asobo.”
In 2023, he set two world records for the longest continuous cooking marathon he took on.
Disseminated from Matsue, the main filming location for NHK dramas Alan is based in Matsue, which has ties to Ireland, where the literary great Yakumo Koizumi spent his childhood, and he aims to help Matsue become “Little Ireland.” To commemorate the fact that the morning drama modeled after Yakumo’s wife, Setsu, will start airing next spring and airing in the fall, we will be making stews from various places Yakumo has traveled to (Ireland = lamb stew, Greece = Ave). New set menus including goremono soup, New Orleans gumbo, and Shimane Lake Shinji clam seafood chowder will be released soon.
