Taipei, August 29, 2024 – A global leader in power management and IoT-based smart green
Delta, a solutions provider, announced today that its subsidiaries Delta Electronics Co., Ltd. and Delta Electronics (Korea),
Inc. to acquire the power inductor and powder materials business (including production and R&D equipment, patents and intellectual property) of Alps Alpine Co., Ltd. (Alps Alpine Inc.), a publicly traded Japanese company, for approximately US$71 million. We announced the conclusion of a contract.
Alps Alpine’s proprietary powder material patented technology is used to develop low power loss power inductors that improve the energy efficiency of devices and equipment, and upon completion of this acquisition, Delta will continue to invest in Alps Alpine’s patented technology in Japan and South Korea. In addition to integrating the company’s power inductor business, the company will combine the company’s R&D capabilities, production facilities, and customer base to expand into data centers, AI high-performance computing, edge computing, electric vehicles, smartphones, next-generation ICT products, etc. We will strengthen our ability to supply passive components.
