■What is “Minamisanriku Kirakiradon”?
“Minamisanriku Kirakira-don” is a rice bowl made with plenty of local seafood that looks luxurious and has a rich flavor, and as the name suggests, it has a “sparkling” appearance.
This series, which started in November 2009 with the “Minamisanriku Kirakira Ikura Don”, restarted in the fall of 2012 after the earthquake, and has become a symbol of recovery.
There are four types of rice bowls made using seasonal ingredients: spring, summer, fall, and winter.
“Minamisanriku Kirakira Harutobete-don” is a harmonious combination of “Spring Announcement Vegetables” and seafood that herald the arrival of spring.
“Minamisanriku Kirakira Unidon” is by far the most popular dish in the summer and there is always a long line of people.
In autumn, you can enjoy the “Minamisanriku Kirakira Aki Uji” that lets you feel the arrival of autumn, such as returned bonito and Shizugawa octopus.
In winter, the “Minamisanriku Kirakira Ikura Don” is filled with salmon roe that shines like jewels. (*Due to the record poor salmon catch, we are currently offering Minamisanriku Kirakira Winter Mikakushi, where you can enjoy the taste of winter.)
Depending on the restaurant, they are particular about not only the ingredients used in the rice bowl, but also the side dishes and soups. ■“Minamisanriku Kirakira Autumn Umdon” available from September 1st (Sunday) It’s a hearty bowl that’s perfect for the autumn season.
The main ingredients include Shizugawa octopus, a specialty of Minamisanriku, dried bonito, salmon, scallops, salmon, and salmon roe, all of which are reminiscent of autumn.
You can enjoy a variety of flavors with the same ingredients, such as restaurants that serve octopus as sashimi or fried chicken, and scallops as sashimi or grilled scallops.
