What is “Oirase Stream Icefall Tour”?
Oirase Keiryu, which flows for approximately 14km from Lake Towada to Mt. Yakeyama, is located within Towada-Hachimantai National Park and is designated as a special protection area. While it is known as a famous spot for fresh greenery and autumn leaves, in winter it snows, icicles grow all over the rock cliffs, and the waterfalls freeze in the extreme cold, creating a world that resembles an ink painting, and its beauty has increased in recent years. has received wide attention. The Oirase Stream Icefall Tour, where you can enjoy the natural beauty of the Oirase Stream in winter, is a bus tour run by a public-private partnership with the aim of attracting more visitors to winter tourism and creating repeat visitors in the future. . You can experience the beauty of nature’s art, which shows different expressions during the day and night. During the daytime tour, you will tour the silver Oirase Stream with a nature guide, hearing about the formation of the valley and the mechanisms of nature, and visiting beautiful bluish icicles and clusters of icefalls, which will take your breath away. You can enjoy the impressive winter scenery. On the night tour, a vehicle equipped with special lighting equipment leads the tour bus as it explores the Oirase Gorge.
