◆Overview A student-only acceleration program for middle school, high school, and university students who aspire to become entrepreneurs, in partnership with National University Corporation Okayama University (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Okayama City, President: Yasutomo Nasu) and operated by Setouchi Startups Co., Ltd. The kickoff event for “ORANGE CAMP” was held on August 26, 2024 at Momotaro Startup Cafe (Momosta). The purpose of this event was to support the creation of startups by the younger generation, as well as provide experience and knowledge about starting a business to junior high and high school students and university students who are interested in starting a business. Approximately 30 junior high and high school students and university students participated.
At the event, after Kuniaki Yamada and Keiichiro Fujita,
representatives of Setouchi Startups Co., Ltd., explained the purpose of the event, Jun Hori, a former NHK announcer and journalist and representative director of 8bitNews Co., Ltd., spoke about the company’s establishment in the Omotemachi shopping district of Okayama City. We introduced the 8bitNews Setouchi Global Studio, which we operate as a base for disseminating information to raise awareness of regional and social issues.
Afterwards, five students took to the stage and gave presentations about their own entrepreneurial and business experiences. First, Gaku Fujita, Representative Director and CEO of MoonJapan Co., Ltd., took the stage. He started making clothes after experiencing discrimination due to Asian hate while studying abroad in Canada during the coronavirus pandemic. He talked about how he succeeded in raising funds by participating in J-StarX, an overseas dispatch program for entrepreneurs hosted by .
Next, Haruka Nezu, a POLA ORBIS CAPITAL intern, talked about her entrepreneurial experience while in high school and her current internship experience at POLA ORBIS Corporate Venture Capital. Next, Riko Fujisawa, CEO of HOUOH Co., Ltd., explained her internship experience at Skyland Ventures Co., Ltd. and the appeal of the “Tokyo Business Contest,” where you can apply in 200 characters.
Furthermore, Arisa Okui, representative of the Doshisha
Entrepreneurship Department, spoke about her own experience of launching the Doshisha Entrepreneurship Department just one month after entering Doshisha University.Finally, Yuto Aoki, managing director of F Ventures TORYUMON, spoke about the actual activities of startups. I introduced about.
After the presentation, a networking session was held, where participants were divided into four groups and consulted with the speakers about their own startups and business-related concerns. This event is a collaboration between Setouchi Startups Co., Ltd., which distributes the video media “Setouchi Startups Flag” and carries out various activities to revitalize the local startup scene, Okayama City, our university, and NPO Dappi. , was held as a kick-off for ORANGE CAMP, a two-month next-generation entrepreneurship education program aimed at middle school, high school, and university students who aspire to become entrepreneurs. “ORANGE CAMP” is a comprehensive entrepreneurial development program for the young generation that supports startups from launch to growth while deepening ties with the local community.
