◆Overview
On August 5, 2024, the Department of Laboratory Technology and Science in the School of Health Sciences of the National University
Corporation Okayama University (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Okayama City, President: Yasutomo Nasu) will hold an open lecture for high school students “Open Science School” hosted by the Department of Laboratory Technology and Science. 2024” was held at our university’s Shikata campus.
This course was designed to allow high school students to experience some of the actual lectures and practical training held in the Department of Inspection Technology and Science, and to help them increase their motivation to take entrance exams and decide on their career paths.
We have held the event twice in the past, but this time we changed the program and had participants experience the pulmonary function testing and clinical chemistry fields of the physiological testing field. The high school students who participated listened intently to the lectures and engaged in practical training. Along the way, I had friendly conversations with the undergraduate and graduate students who came in for support, asking them questions about entrance exams and career paths, and I think they were able to get some useful information. Thank you to everyone who participated.
