Announcement of winning entries for Sohonsho Sakakaku’s “Memoirs and Memories Recruitment Campaign”!
*298 applications for Sakakaku’s 135th anniversary project. The number of awards has been increased, and a total of 6 works will be released. *
From the highest award “Mii -chan’s Hobi”
Sakakaku Sohonsho Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokai City, Aichi Prefecture, Representative Director: Taisuke Saka) will celebrate its 135th anniversary in April 2024, and is developing various
commemorative projects.
As the first project, we held a special project called “Memoirs and Reminiscences Campaign” for two months from April 1st, collecting anecdotes related to “relationships” that people had actually experienced.
As a result, we received more applications than expected, with 298 stories submitted.
Thank you once again to everyone who applied.
We announced that one person would receive the Grand Prize and three people would receive the Excellence Award, but due to the large number of excellent works, we have increased the number of recipients for the Excellence Award by two to five, for a total of six winners. Ta. The episode of the one winner of the Grand Prize will be made into a manga by the SNS manga artist “Kumazo”, and the text of the episodes of the five winners of the Excellence Award will be posted on the homepage.

About shrimp crackers -Yukari-
A representative product of Sakakaku Sohonka. It takes over 7 days to bake using the craftsmanship that originates from the manufacturing method of the Edo period.
Approximately 70% of the ingredients are natural shrimp, and it is rich in calcium and protein.
In addition, we remove the heads of the shrimp, peel them, and use only the meat.
These shrimp crackers are low in fat with only 21kcal per piece. Since its release in 1966, 3.5 billion copies have been shipped, and many people have loved it as a souvenir from Nagoya or as a gift.

Founded in Yokosuka (currently Tokai City, Aichi Prefecture) in 1889 (Meiji 22) by Mr. Kakujiro, the company will celebrate its 135th anniversary in April 2024. We make sweets that take advantage of nature’s bounty, centering on the shrimp rice cracker “Yukari”, which was created by inventing the “shrimp hanpei” presented to the Tokugawa family during the Edo period.
