Participated in exhibitions on bioplastic products, held seminars on bioplastic products, and held expo pre-events.
*Exhibition exhibitions and seminars such as “Expo Pre-Events” will be held. First unveiling of some of the bioplastic product prototypes to be exhibited at the Expo*
* Let people know about bioplastics and create an opportunity for producers and consumers to think about the future society together *
The West Japan Plastic Products Association (General Incorporated Association) (Secretariat: Nishi-ku, Osaka City, Chairman: Yoshihisa Iwasaki) will hold the “OBPN (Osaka Bioplastics Business Promotion Network)” event at City Plaza Osaka (Chuo-ku, Osaka City) on September 13th. The first part of the “Seminar” will be the “Expo Pre-Event,” where prototypes of exhibits will be unveiled for the first time. This is the sixth time the seminar has been held, and this time it was held with a wide range of participants, especially from the general public.
We will create an opportunity for not only product manufacturers but also consumers to think about the future society of plastics, and connect it to the 2025 Osaka/Kansai Expo, where we plan to participate with the theme of bioplastics. We also plan to exhibit for the first time at the 98th Tokyo International Gift Show Autumn 2024, which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight from September 4th to 6th, and display household goods made from bioplastics. Over the medium to long term, we will work to expand our points of contact with consumers and deepen their interest in environmentally friendly materials.
*Both the seminar and gift show exhibition are promoted by our association under contract with Osaka Prefecture’s “Bioplastic Business Matching Support Project.”
Please refer to the included leaflet for details.
* Environmentally friendly plastics enter a period of technological and market change*
As the only comprehensive organization for the plastic product manufacturing industry in the western Japan region, our association provides skills testing, human resource development, and technology promotion support. Plastics are now used in a variety of fields and have become an essential part of our lives. However, social issues such as CO2 emissions and marine plastic waste have become apparent, and we are now entering a period of technological and market change to ensure sustainable utilization.
Bioplastics are not yet widely distributed, mainly in some standard products such as plastic bags, but along with the introduction of recycled plastics and the reduction of waste, they are a promising way to curb global warming and ocean pollution. We see the Expo as a great opportunity to show society at large what we can do now and what we can do in the future. We will take this opportunity to advance the evolution of technology, increase points of contact with consumers and dialogue with the market in the medium to long term, including before and after the Expo, and aim to build new businesses.
* Accumulating technological knowledge and promoting the full-scale spread of bioplastics*
In the first part of this OBPN seminar, “Expo Pre-Event,” we will introduce the latest information on the project “REBORN with bioplastics,” which will be exhibited at the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion, and hold a seminar on plastics and the environment. In the second part, “Lecture,” we will introduce the latest examples of bioplastic technology, its scope of application, the environment surrounding plastics, and commercialization. In addition, there will be an exhibition related to “REBORN with bioplastics” at
“collaborab”, a creator’s communication base on the 1st floor of MyDome Osaka, next to the venue. -Period: September 11th to 20th- Meanwhile, at the Tokyo International Gift Show, Japan’s largest international trade fair for personal gifts and household goods, the Ethical
