We would like to inform you that Hiroshi Inoue, Shippio’s Planning/VP of Operation, has been appointed as President and Representative Director of Kyowa Shipping. *
Background of appointment
Shippio’s mission is to “implement the ideal logistics experience in society,” and as Japan’s first digital forwarder, we are leading digital transformation (DX) in the international logistics field.
In July 2022, we acquired all shares of Kyowa Kaiun, a
long-established customs broker with over 60 years of business history, and entered the customs brokerage business, an area adjacent to the digital forwarding business.
Inoue, who has recently been appointed as president of Kyowa Shipping, has been playing a central role in promoting the integration process between Kyowa Shipping and Shippio, and building a collaborative system between the two companies. As a result, we have also created synergies that increased gross profit margin by 5%.
As we continue to focus on digitalizing our customs clearance business, Inoue, who is also a member of Shippio’s management team, will take over the management baton. Under our new president, Inoue, we aim to realize digital customs clearance by combining Kyowa Kaiun’s wealth of knowledge in the customs clearance field, which is our strength, with Shippio’s technology.
